Leadership Team

Mr. Herremans holds both a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University and a Fellowship from the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Mr. Herremans came to SCHC after completing a 22-year career as a Medical Service Corps Officer in the United States Air Force.  During his last assignment, he served as Commander of the 341st Medical Group on Malmstrom AFB in Montana.  Throughout his career, Mr. Herremans has held several senior-level positions to include Chief of Staff for the Air Force Surgeon General and Deputy Group Commander for the 3rd Medical Group at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska.  He also has experience in combat medicine and has served on the USCENTCOM Surgeons staff during Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  He has extensive experience in Managed Care, Finance, and Disaster Preparedness.

Over the last 16 years with SCHC, Mr. Herremans has worked hard to improve the quality of facilities and infrastructure, renovating clinics, adding 3 mobile units, improving equipment, starting Suncoast Career Academy, implementing an MDI program, and working closely with the County Behavioral Health department.  SCHC has increased to over 66,000 patient visits per year being seen by over 492 SCHC team members.
